What is Waterproofing?

Waterproofing is the process of making an object or structure waterproof or water-resistant so that it remains relatively unaffected by water or resisting the ingress of water under specified conditions.

Being an environmentally conscious applicator, we source the most  environmentally friendly  waterproofing products available on the market from a range of reputable suppliers. We use a range of water or acrylic based products, cementitious, polyurethane membranes, as well as sheet membranes. Some applications for various products include the below:

Water or acrylic based membranes are used for various types of waterproofing applications including

  • Decks
  • Balconies
  • Rooftops
  • Foundations
  • Retaining Walls

Cementitious membranes are available as dual or single components. Some are fibre reinforced for additional strength with rapid drying and flexible variants available. Cementitious membranes are used for various types of waterproofing applications including

  • Balconies
  • Rooftops
  • Planter Boxes
  • Retaining Walls
  • Lift Pits
  • Water Tanks

Polyurethanes are ideal for use in many different situations including concrete and timber surfaces in both internal and external situations.

Polyurethanes we use have low VOC ratings, which means they are better for your health, the environment and cure to form a tough seal in the following applications

  • Retaining Walls
  • Planter Boxes
  • Balconies and decks
  • Rooftops
  • Exposed applications

Liquid masonry water repellents and waterproofers

We boast a wide range of liquid masonry water repellents and waterproofers that use Polyester polymer-based formulations. These are specialist products that are ecologically friendly, non-toxic, non-caustic, non-flammable and they waterproof, eliminate rising damp, insulate, harden and preserve concrete, plaster, mortar and most natural stone permanently.

Bricks and masonry are often made from clay and other naturally occurring products. Clay being a natural product, when kiln dried into brick form, becomes porous and has a tendency to absorb water.

When unsealed bricks absorb water, they can become water-logged, display signs of mold, signs of deterioration and possibly rising damp.

In coastal areas bricks are susceptible to salt erosion from the salts in the atmosphere.

Sealing and waterproofing the bricks will protect and extend the life of the brick work, especially in coastal regions.

We boast a wide range of liquid masonry water repellents and waterproofers that encompass water based and solvent based products.

Our experienced technicians can apply water repellents and waterproofers to most types of masonry works, including fresh mortar, render or natural stone.

Sheet membranes come in different variants such as Bitumen based torch-on and self-adhesive, bentonite clay based.

We use a range of sheet membranes from a range of reputable suppliers. Some applications for various products include the below:

Torch-on and Self- Adhesive membranes are suitable for use on

  • Roof gardens
  • Planter boxes
  • Foundations

Bentonite sheets are designed for, mainly, below-grade vertical and horizontal structural foundation surfaces. Typical below grade applications include backfilled concrete walls, masonry block walls, earth-covered roofs, and tunnels.

Concrete Waterproofing

As bricks and masonry absorb moisture, so does concrete.

We offer a variety of dustproofing, sealing and waterproofing options for concrete structures.

  • Dustproofing minimises the naturally occurring dust emissions from concrete using a special penetrating sealer achieving a natural looking concrete finish.
  • Sealing concrete can be done in a variety of ways to achieve specific requirements such as natural appearance or non-slip finish
  • Waterproofing Concrete can be achieved with different types of products other than sealers.
  • We apply traditional waterproofing (liquid) membranes to a variety of concrete applications as well as torch-on (sheet) membranes to areas such as concrete roof-tops and roof terraces.
  • We are also specialist epoxy coating applicators for large scale concrete applications such as factory floors, warehouses, hangars and many other concrete structures.
